What has Happened in the World of BBT: 2010-2011
End of Tour Video
Apologies for the long wait, but here you have it! Enjoy!
Day 9: Spokane, WA
Ionic Burritos in Spokane is our last stop on tour. It's amazing how fast this week went by and it's also sad to see it end because we have to say our final goodbyes to our senior, Joey, and Alexa, who is transferring to University of Nevada, Reno next year. We sang our hearts out in the iconic little burrito restauraunt, but it still didn't hit us that this was the last time we were going to sing together for this school year. We even showed off our dancing skills, even though the venue didn't quite serve as a dancing stage. Then, we eneded the concert, hand in hand, singing "Right Here, Right Now." We spent the rest of the night exchanging inside jokes and sectional gifts (Sopranos give to the Tenors, Tenors give to the Altos, Altos give to the Basses and Basses give to the Sopranos). I think I can speak for all of us when I say it's been and incredible tour. Getting to know everyone and sharing this amazing experience with each other has truly been a blessing. I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for BBT!
Stay tuned for the tour video!
As for Joey and Alexa, we are going to miss you more than you'll ever know. You'll both change the world.
BBT Love.
Day 8: Seattle, WA
We had an early performance for both Parker's and Lucas's old high school, Bishop Blanchette, today at 9 in the morning. We don't know how we woke up so early for high school...classes that start at 8am should be illegal. The students loved the show! Seattle is the last leg of our tour before returning to Spokane so we wanted to get the most out of city including doing the "tourist-y" thing and walked around Pikes Place. The girls turned some heads as we sang "Kaleidescope Heart" walking downtown. What a great way to end our stay in Sea-town.
Day 7: Seattle, WA
BBT sang "Shelter Your Name" at Rebecca's church, St. Therese Parish, for mass in the morning. It was probably the most entertaining service I've ever been to. The gospel choir made it a celebration and made me want to become a gospel singer. Afterwards, we explored Broadway and did some shopping. That night, we held a concert for the Seattlelites, which included BBT alums, Aryn Anderson and Elliot Kraber. Good to see you guys again!
Day 6: The Drive to Portland
Today is one of those long driving days. We drove 9 hours from San Francisco to Portland, well more specifically, Lake Oswego, OR where Andrea lives. We miss you, Andrea! (For those who don't know, Andrea is studying abroad in Florence, Italy this summer so she was unable to join us on tour). Hope you're having a blast overseas! A few of the members, myself included, passed out most of the drive so there's not much to say here...at least it was a pretty scenic drive! When we arrived, we were all beat so we just ate dinner and relaxed. Tonight, we rest up for church in the morning with Rebecca in Seattle!
Day 5: San Francisco/ Lafayette, CA
Our first performance of the day was for an enthusiastic crowd of first graders, always one of our favorite audiences! We sang our popular Disney song for Joey's 6-year-old brothers' class. They even performed some songs for us too. What a treat! Afterwards, we spent some quality time at Baker's Beach where we encountered soft sand, breathless scenery, and senior citizen nudists...that was definitely a site to be UNseen. We ended the night with a concert at the Wright residence. We couldn't have asked for a better time in the city by the bay.
Day 4: San Francisco/ Lafayette, CA
We woke up bright and early to drive to the AT&T Stadium for the Giants game. See, BBT likes sports too. It was the first Giants game for most of us and we were pumped! After their win, we all headed over to Joey's for some grub. As the sun was setting, Joey took us to Grizzly Peak. We shared an epic BBT moment while we sang "Circle of Life" on top of the hill that overloked the enitre city. It was a beautiful day in the bay!
Day 3: Sparks/Reno, NV
This will be BBT's second year singing at Reed High School and once again, the two concerts were probably the best we've ever had! Thanks for the high energy! After the parents fed us, we explored downtown Reno and Sparks. Nick came out a winner at Circus Circus with a brand new guitar after playing a random $2 game. Atta way! It felt great to be home, but the tour must go on! Next stop: San Francisco, CA!
Day 2: The Long Drive
This was the long haul. 14 hours and over 900 miles of driving later, we finally arrived in Sparks, NV. We ran into some trouble with finding gas stations and breaking caravan chains, but we also shared countless hours of pump-up music ranging from a cappella to Lil Wayne, to Billy Joel. It was just a very long day. We can't wait to perform tomorrow, but for now, we fall into a deep coma.
Some of us got a little stir crazy...
Day 1: Missoula, MT
We kicked off the tour in Missoula, MT this year. As you can see, we know how to keep ourselves entertained during the long drives...at least Andrew does. It was lovely going to Hannah's home and enjoying everything that is Montana...including the taxidermy centers at every mile or so. It was fun, but short-lived! Next stop: Sparks, NV for the Sparks Trio. Stay tuned for an end-of-tour video at, well, the end of the tour. Get a glimpse of all of our crazy shenanigans.
